KFDA released notification circular (No. 2015-85) to revise some contents of Code for Food Additives. The main amendments are as follows:

a. Revise the limit standard of 16 kinds of food colorings (implement from Nov. 20, 2016)

b. Revise the standards and specifications of 8 additives such as glucose oxidase (implement from Nov. 19, 2015)

Corresponding limit standards for 16 food colorings used as food additives in Korea are formulated based on study on international standards and domestic application situations, and will be implement officially after one year’s transitional period.
