The new code for pesticide management issued by UNFAO on the 25th
day of this month calls on all nations to update their pesticide regulatory
framework.
According to Wang
Ren, the Assistant Director-General of FAO Agriculture and Consumer Protection,
the FAO encourages all nations to refer to these codes when reviewing current
pesticide legislation and labeling system for the purpose of protecting human
health and environment and facilitating sustainable development for
agriculture.
The official website
of FAO claims that the new codes detailing all elements to be included in the
national pesticide legal framework can be referred to by governments when
drafting, reviewing, and updating current pesticide legislation.
