Last
week, the secretary general of Cashewnut Board of Tanzania, Mfaume Juma presented a
document on Tanzanian cashew industry opportunities; he said, Tanzanian cashew
production accounted for more than 20% of global output in 1974, creating a
record 145,000 tonnes of peak production in 1970s. However, due to various
factors, our market share was reduced.
Juma
mentioned some of aspects both sides could expand cooperation, such as technology
transfer, especially in local processing, cashew by-product utilization,
large-scale farming and local market input supply.
