In 2016, the sunflower seed sown area in Ukraine and Russia may reach a record of 13.1 million hectares, with 700,000 hectares more than the previous year. The increase in sunflower acreage is largely due to better fundamental situation of global vegetable oil market, as well as the attractive price and relatively low cost.
