It is estimated by Ukraine Ministry of Agriculture that the sunflower acreage in 2016 may reach to 5.2 million hectares, while the analysts forecasts it may be 6-6.2 million hectares.

UkrAgroConsult said, the income from sunflower cultivation is higher than other crops, coupled with unusually high prices of domestic sunflower, lack of winter crop sowing and great losses, which could prompt the farmers to increase plantings of sunflower seeds.
