The Brazilian Government decided on Tuesday to cancel the
import tariff of corns from Non-Mercosur countries, and provide
convenience for corn import. In this year, the domestic corn supply is tense in
Brazil.
The so-called Mercosur refers to the regional trade pact
between South American countries including Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay,
Venezuela and Paraguay. The Mercosur countries enjoy free-tariff policy for
corns.
As said by CAMEX, the 8-10% tariff for imported corns in
the next six months will be cancelled, for maximum amount of 1mt.
