Australian
Macadamia Society (AMS) estimates that the gross weight of the unshelled nut this
season in 2016 may reach 46,750 tons. This is the first time that AMS lowers the
water content of the crop by weight from 10% to 3.5% to fit the trade market.
The planting environment in the most producing regions is relatively good to
increase the output. The nuts quality in this season is expected higher overall.
The global demand for Macadamia nuts and unshelled
nuts continues to grow and the trend of the export trade keeps rising.
