According to Kenya Bureau of Standards, from July 1, 2016, Kenya will implement imported standard label (ISM), and all imported goods can be sold in retail markets such as supermarkets only with this label. Kenya Bureau of Standards claims this label is safer, and can effectively prevent smuggling of inferior products. Meanwhile, by scanning 2D barcode on label and sending SMS to 20023, consumers can know relevant information of manufacturers.
