As said by Nguyen Duc Thanh, the Chairman of Vietnam Cashew Association, the cashew processing volume in Vietnam accounts for 40% of total global cashew sales. Due to the insufficient raw material cashew in the country, about 800,000t cashews are imported every year. During January –May this year, Vietnam imported raw material cashew of 226,000t, with import value of USD 344 Million. By prediction, totally 870,000t raw material cashews will be imported in the entire year, with import value of over USD 1.1Billion.
