2016/17 sunflower seed output of 28 countries in EU is expected to be 8.29 million tons, which is slightly lower than previously forecast 8.41 million tons, and is increased by 8.9% when compared with 7.61 million tons of the last year.

The report shows that, 2016/17 EU sunflower seed planting area is expected to be 4.17 million hectares, which is slightly lower than previously forecast of 4.19 million hectares, and is increased by 1% when compared with 4.19 million hectares of the last year.

2016/17 sunflower seed yield per unit of 28 countries in EU is expected to be 1.99 t/hectare, which is slightly lower than the previously forecast 2.01 t/hectare, and is increased by 8.2% when compared with 1.84 tons of the last year.
