According to 2015 pecan output data released by USDA in the beginning of July, the final pecan output in USA in 2015 is 254.3 Million Pounds. The output is greatly unexpected. However, it also explains why the market price in output season in 2015 is at historically high.

2. 2016 output prediction

On July 12, Texas Pecan Growers Council released the latest prediction for 2016 output.

According to traditional prediction, 2016 will be a lean year for pecans. The first edition prediction for local pecan output in 2016 shall be 292 Million Pounds. Moreover, USA will import 180 Million Pounds from Mexico by prediction.
