Mr. Paswan, the Minister of Food Department of India said to the Lok Sabha that during April-May in this fiscal year India has imported 700,000 soybean products to meet domestic demands.

Mr. Paswan said the total soybean product demand in India during 2016-17 is 2,461mt, while the total output is 1.7-1.95mt. The gap will be filled by import. The soybean products import volume mainly depends on inventory, domestic market price and international market price.
