Mexico has surpassed the United States two times in succession in the production of pecans. According to the latest public data on crops, the production of Mexico’s pecans hit a record of 270 million pounds in 2015, 400,000 pounds more than that of 2014.

According to the trade data published on July 31th 2016, Mexico has created a new record in its export, with 207 million pounds’ pecans exported to the United States. But it is predicted that the United States will import about 192 million pounds’ pecans from Mexico in 2016.
