Myanmar Sesame Export Faces Pesticide Residual Problem

According to relevant report, it is learned from Myanmar Beans & Sesame Seeds Merchants Association that about 100,000t sesames are exported to China, Japan and Korea every year, and pesticide residual measurement expenses are increased. Person in charge of Myanmar Beans & Sesame Seeds Merchants Association said recently when exported sesames to foreign countries, pesticide residual problem shall be detected. The expense on each kind of detection is about 500,000Kyat, so the costs are increased. Therefore, the pesticide sellers shall not merely earn money, but also provide training to farmers buying pesticide for dosage and application method to prevent from excessive use of pesticide.
