Nuts Import Tariff Improves in Azerbaijan

Cabinet Minister of Azerbaijan decides to add import tariff of some foreign commodities in two years. Aliev, the Chairman of Azerbaijan Customs Committee believes the decision will increase output of domestic products.

Aliev said they will preferentially consider agricultural products and food. From now on, the domestic products could compete with foreign products sold at dumping price. These products contain meet and meet byproducts, eggs, vegetables (cucumber, tomato, onion, garlic), fruits and nuts, and processed fruit and vegetable products.

This regulation will take effect since Nov. 1, 2016 and last for two years. At present, the import tariff of aforesaid commodities is 15%.
