According to industrial data, the growth rate of cashew consumption market has exceeded any other nuts. The demand has increased 53% since 2010.

As estimated by a grower association, the cashew nut output in Vietnam dropped 11%. The domestic price had risen to the third new high in history. The market price of cashew nut will keep increasing till next harvest season in the beginning of next year.

Cashew nut plantation area needs large amount rainwater and warm weather throughout the year, like the southeast of Vietnam. However, in the past year, an abnormal drought period has made 2 million population left the country serious short in water resources.
