The other day, one official of Agricultural Department of Badakhshan said the pistachio nut output in Badakhshan in 2016 is about 200 ton, dropping 80% than the 1000t output in 2015 mainly because the snowfall and precipitation in local area in last winter is insufficient.

Currently, the planting area of pistachio nuts in Badakhshan is about 150,000ha.
