Myanmar Will Issue Food Law in 2017

As introduced by Wu Shengdan, Vice Chairman of Myanmar Food Association, The draft of Myanmar Food Law, led by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of Ministry of Health, Myanmar, participated by relevant government departments, domestic institutions and organizations concerned, and international organizations, and assisted by United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has basically finished. Currently, the draft is the fifth edition. After passing the review, the law will be issued and implemented in 2017. Wu said contents of the draft contain that enterprises against relevant laws and regulations will be held legally responsible or closed down, or confiscated business license.
