Australian Macadamia Society announced that the
macadamia nut yield has broken the record for two continuous years with the
total yield of the nuts with shell reaching 52000 tons (10% humidity) on
account of favorable weather conditions. This figure is slightly higher than the yield of 50000
tons predicted initially with an 8% growth rate compared to that of last year.
The nut meat yield will be about 10,500 tons, equal to that of last year.
The yield in Bundaberg District ranked
first nationwide for the first time in history with the share exceeding 40%.
