Australian Macadamia Society announced that the macadamia nut yield has broken the record for two continuous years with the total yield of the nuts with shell reaching 52000 tons (10% humidity) on account of favorable weather conditions. This figure is slightly higher than the yield of 50000 tons predicted initially with an 8% growth rate compared to that of last year. The nut meat yield will be about 10,500 tons, equal to that of last year.

The yield in Bundaberg District ranked first nationwide for the first time in history with the share exceeding 40%.

The insider revealed that the global demands for the macadamia nut meat and shelled macadamia nuts were still strong and the FTAs signed with Korea, Japan and China recently had a very positive impact on the export. After the singing of such FTAs, the quantity of Australian macadamia nuts exported to Korean market has increased for 150% while the quantity exported to Japan has also increased for 18%.
