Especially in the coffee planting region in Puebla State, the macadamia nut has become the second largest commercial crop with the planting area as 543 hectares and the output value as up to 11,200 pesos per ton.

At present, the largest consumer groups of macadamia nut are Asia, U.S.A. and Mexico. The Mexican government is formulating policies to support the development of the macadamia nut industry.
