According to the
statistics of California Almond Association, the almond export in December
this year was increased by 15.4% than that of the same period last year; export
was increased to 15.6 million tons from 13.5 million tons in the same period
last year, and sales volume reached 10.39 million tons in December. When compared
with last year, California total almond export was about 95 million tons, which
was increased by 34% than that of last year. Data showed that, USA consumption
was increased by 12.9%, and export was increased by 45.85%. Turkey and UAE
are the most important countries with the almond export growth, and the
export was increased by 180% and 111% respectively; in addition, China, South
Korea and India also had very obvious growth, and the export was increased by
49%, 44% and 41% respectively. The almond output
in this production season was about 2.1 billion pounds to 2.12 billion
pounds. Most of the processors sold 70% of almond inventory, and 60% of
farmers’ inventory and the new almonds had been sold out. Currently, with the
delivery of a large number of Extra #1 almond kernels and NP shelled almonds,
by April/May 2017, the two varieties of high quality goods will be in short
supply. Most processors estimate that, the almond delivery in January this
year will be 15% -25% higher than that of last year. |
