According to the reported dated Feb. 5 of Nigeria Business Daily: According to the statistical data of Nigeria Cashew Nut Association, the cashew nut export of Nigeria was 160000 tons in 2016, the export volume was USD 300 million, but 90% of them were exported in the form of raw materials. The association director expressed that: The cashew nut raw material price in the international market is USD 1200/t, and the processed cashew nut product price is USD 12000/t. By this way, Nigeria will lose the added value of the processed cashew nut with an amount of USD 1.4 billion. Accordingly, the industry requests the government to support the development of cashew nut processing industry to increase the export value.
