For
pecan growers in the State of Georgia, high price and high yield is the
highlight of the entire harvest season.
As the harvest season approaches to the end, the price of
pecan always drops; however, in this year, the price rises. Although Hurricane Hermione
and Mathew and drought lasting from end of summer to the autumn affected pecan
negatively, Lenny Wells, the expert of Pecan still expect a favorable harvest.
As said
by Wells, the output in this year is higher than that in the previous year. He
predicted final output in State of Georgia will be 1000-2000pounds than the
previous year, and the price will reach a new highest record in history. Wells
also believed aforesaid factors may cause “Pecan Fever”. More seedlings will be
planted, and pecan output in the State of Georgia will be further enlarged.
