1: Analysis of global macadamia nut output
in 2017
According to
the prediction, the supply volume in most macadamia nut producing areas in 2017
will increase than that in 2016. As predicted, the actual supply volume
shall be 180,000t, increasing 10000t than the 170,000t output in 2016.
According to current prediction, the
areas with largest output, and amount of output are as follows:
Australia: 26%, 46800t;
South Africa: 23%, 42000t;
Kenya: 17%, 30600t;
America: 9%, 16200t;
Other area: 25%, 45000t
The trend of macadamia nuts
and unshelled macadamia nuts in later period of the year are analyzed as
follows. Since most macadamia nuts in Australia and Kenya are processed to
nuts, we predict the price of macadamia nuts will keep the same level as in
2016. The standard prices of quality level nuts are:
0/1 Nuts FOB: USD17.00/kg
4/4L Nuts FOB:
USD14.00/kg
2: Analysis on macadamia nut output and
sales in South Africa in 2017
The unshelled macadamia nut output in
South Africa in 2016 is 38,000t (1.5% water content), decreasing 17%
than the 46,000t in 2015. As predicted, totally 42000t unshelled macadamia nuts will
be produced in 2017, increasing 10.5% than the output in 2016.
In 2016, about 24320t
macadamia nuts are processed to nuts (accounting for 64% of total output), and
the remaining 13680t are exported as unshelled nuts to mainland China, Vietnam
and Hong Kong. Interestingly, although output is reduced than that in 2015, the
macadamia nuts amount is about 2500t larger than that in 2015.
