1: Output and import situations of Vietnam cashew nuts

The output of Vietnam cashew nuts is unfavorable due to drought caused by El Nino last year. Although precipitation this year is sufficient, the excessive rainy weather causes continuous drop of cashew nut output in Vietnam.

The raw cashew nuts in Vietnam start being harvested since March 2017; however, due to worse weather, the quality of raw cashew nuts is worse than that in the previous year.

The predicted output of Vietnam cashew nuts is about 300,000-350,000t. The Vietnam processing plants need to import 1.1-1.3million ton unshelled cashew nuts to meet requirements of production.

While in South Africa, India and Cambodia, raw cashew nut quality is good as always. In Ivory Coast, the raw cashew nut harvested and delivered from the middle of March s about 15 trucks (40t/truck/day).
