Agerpres on March 31: The State Statistics Bureau of Romania released output and planting area of some agricultural products in 2016. The data of sunflower, corn, wheat and potato ranked top in the European Union.

According to the data, in 2016, the sunflower planting area in Romania is over 1.01 million ha., 4000ha. larger than that in 2015. The output is 1.95million ton, increasing 168,000t. The planting area and output both ranked the first in EU.
