In March, the output of pecans in 2016 estimated by US Shelled Pecans Dealers Association
is about 286.7 million pounds (unshelled). Based on this output data and
import/export data, the pecans supply and sales situations in entire 2016/17
shall be as follows:

The total pecans supply in 2016/17 is expected to be 606.7 Million pounds,
increasing 7.99% year on year; total supply in 2015/16 was 561.8 million
pounds.
More Chinese people love pecan nuts. Some
increment of imported volume in China is from increase of export of pecan nuts.
With labor costs increase in China, nuts purchased from USA and Mexico are more
cost-effective. Many importers import unshelled pecans and shell in China.
Therefore, overall demands for nuts are
increasing.
