In accordance
with Monthly Economic Review released latest by Central Bank of Tanzania,
Tanzania cashew nut export exceeds tobacco and ranks first among traditional
crops as of February this year.
Tobacco has always been the leading
traditional export-oriented crops in Tanzania, followed by cashew nut and
coffee. In this year, cashew nut export volume rises up to USD 343.6 Million
from USD 184.9 Million in the same period in the previous year. Export volume
of tobacco is USD 276.3 Million, slightly dropping than the same period in the
previous year. Experts of Tanzania Central Bank said the rise of both quantity
and price of cashew nut drove growth of export volume.
