In this season, growers of Australia and South Africa start harvesting macadamia nuts in a large scale. The drying ovens of processing plants are full.

So far, macadamia nuts in South Africa are of good quality and larger size than that in the previous season. The proportion of 4R and 4S macadamia nut harvested in the previous season is the highest.

The macadamia nut output in Kenya is not as high as expected. The drought in Kenya affects output increase. 

Due to vast demand of the Chinese market, macadamia growers in this year are willing to sell unshelled macadamia nuts  with higher sales income, and more exporters prefer to export more unshelled nuts.

However, so far, the supply amount of global macadamia nuts in 2017 is still a problem.
