This year is a good harvest year for pecans in South Africa, and size of 80% pecans is expected to be large to OS, which are sizes required by the Chinese market.

The OS pecan output in South Africa is less than that in 2016; of course, 2016 is a good harvest year for OS size, with over 60% are at OS size; in this year, size of about 40% pecans is OS.

As estimated, the pecan output increase in South Africa in this year may reach 30%, and output in 2016 is about 10900t, while the number in this year is about 14000t. The output of pecans in South Africa is about 3-4% of global output, ranking the third in the world after America and Mexico.
