The almond harvest in Chile has just finished. As disclosed
by insiders, the output in this season is reduced, about 15%-25% nationwide.
The accurate number of varieties in each region shall be collected in next a
few weeks.
It is mainly affected by bad weathers: more frozen days,
drought in winter (May, June and July) and rainy season in the harvest period.
Lack of precipitation directly leads to fewer blossoms. Later, temperature in
Summer is extraordinarily high, even reaching 40℃. The water shortage for fruit trees is more serious.
Such situation shall be regulated in at least one year
before recovering to normal output.
