The price of cashew kernel remains in a high level in two weeks, and even increased further. The unbalanced supply and demand and short supply leads to price rise.

Supply:

Since harvest in Vietnam and Cambodia is about to finish, the main raw cashew source is from West Africa. The sellers in West Africa rise price and wish to renegotiate the contract signed before with cheaper price.

The political issues of Ivory Coast and Guinea-Bissau will affect supply of raw cashew in west Africa, and the supply is still in short.

Demands:

Now the demand and consumption is still in favorable status mainly because in Europe and American market, no high price cashew kernel in consumption end, and consumers still think cashew nuts are good and attractive snacks.

But in the European and American market, no importer is willing to supplement goods in large number since worried sharp reduction of demands due to high price. The inventory is limited.
