Recently, USDA released the latest refrigerator storage data of US pecans
in April. Data shows compared with that same period in the previous year, the
inventory of shelled and unshelled pecans increase slightly. Although the
market price currently is sluggish, with ceaseless sales and reduction of inventory,
the US pecan market in Summer will be stable.
Internal report of
pecan industry predicts global consumption of pecan will reduce 7% in 2016/17,
dropping 10% than the previous year. The US pecan inventory by the end of the
quarter will keep at 130 million pounds.
According to US pecan output in 2017, the domestic output in the US is
favorable. The pecan growers’ meeting of three states closed recently
predicted output in 2017 is 292 billion pounds, while actual output in 2016 is
268.77 million pounds.
South Africa pecans now have entered large-scale harvest period. In next month, the pecans in South Africa will finish harvesting largely.
