On July 18, as reported by Korean media, Rural Development
Administration (RDA) of Korea found the Soyasaponin content in peanut new
seedling is 30times higher than that in ungerminated seeds. Maximally 15.4mg
Soyasaponin is in 1g peanut new seedling extractive.
RDA proved the preventive and improving effect of the peanut new
seedling extractive for osteoporosis by animal cell test; osteocyte damage
ability is restricted for 3.5 times, and bone formation ability is improved
6.1times. Thus, the higher the Soyasaponin content is, the higher the osteocyte
activity will be. The seed of peanut new seedling cultivation is the “Xinbaguang” variety in
Korea, which is of large grain size, high output and easy cultivation. Test
finds the Soyasaponin content is the highest when sprouting for 7~10days and
the seedling is about 15cm high.
RDA has applied for patent of “A Production Method of Soyasaponin Substance
with Osteoporosis Improvement Function”, and cooperated with enterprises to
develop processing food of grains and tea with peanut new seedling extractive
as raw materials. The products will be put into market in 2018.
