A supply and demand report released Monday by the strategic Grain Corp, a French analytical agency, shows that this year's EU sunflower seed production is estimated at 8 million 500 thousand tonnes,higher than 8 million 360 thousand previously forecasts,an increasing of 3% over the previous year's 8 million 250 thousand tons.

According to the report, the EU sunflower seed area is estimated at 4 million 130 thousand hectares in 2017/18, consisting with earlier projections, an increasing of 1.1%. over the previous year's 4 million 80 thousand hectares.

In 2017/18 annual, EU sunflower seed yield is expected to be 2.06 tons / h, higher than the previous forecast of 2.03 tons / h, an increasing of over the previous year's 2.02 tons.
