The latest report, released by Vietnam’s Ministry of agriculture and rural development shows that as of the end of July, Vietnam exports of cashew is 186 thousand tons, decreasing over the same period on 2.2%, which exports of $1 billion 830 million, an year-on-year growth of 24%. The average export price of cashew nuts this year is US $9727 / ton, year-on-year growth by 26.5%. Due to unfavourable weather, the production of cashew nut raw materials in Vietnam has dropped sharply, and a serious shortage of supplies which has led to a great deal of import, thus 902 thousand tons of raw cashew nuts have been imported this year, at the same time, domestic raw cashew prices remains high.
