Global Agricultural Output Report for September issued by USDA shows the predicted sunflower seed output in Argentina in 2017/18 may be 4 million ton, 18% higher than the predicted number in the previous month, and 18% more than the output in the previous year. The predicted sunflower seed growing area shall be 1.9 million ha., 19% higher than the predicted number in the previous month, and 11% more than the number in the previous year. The per unit area yield is expected to reach 2.11t/ha., slightly lower than the prediction in the previous month and 6% higher than the previous year.

The broadcasting of sunflower seeds in Argentina has been carried out smoothly, especially in the North of Argentina. The broadcasting area of main producing area expects a growth. The domestic sunflower seed oil demand is increased, and export tariff of sunflower seed and sunflower seed oil is exempted, farmers are encouraged to grow sunflower seeds.
