On Oct. 20, 2017, Food Safety and Standard Administration of India (FSSAI)
released the 14th Amendment to Food Safety and Standard Act, which
will take effect from the issuance date.
In accordance with F.No.Stds/O&F/Notification (3)/FSSAI-2016, clauses of 2.2.1 “Oils” and 2.2.4 “Edible fat” in Food Safety and Standard Act (Food Standards and Food Additives) are revised for unprocessed coconut oil, linseed oil, rapeseed oil, palm oil, palm kernel oil, coconut and peanut butter are involved, including definition, quality requirements, health, toxic and harmful substances and residue, packing label, sampling and analysis method.
