From October 2016
to September 2017, the pecan output in the America is slightly higher than the
prediction made by NASS in October 2016. Currently, the estimated output is
about 268 million pounds, increasing 8% than last year. Although six less
states have been included to output investigation, the total output is still
larger than that in the previous year.
The output in most of producing areas is improved. Higher
output, inventory and import make overall supply of pecans in this year
sufficient. Nonetheless, the strong market demand of pecans in the US,
especially demand of overseas market, will guarantee price of US pecans. In
addition to sufficient supply, the overall output of US pecans creates a new
high record.
Since July, the export of accumulated unshelled pecans is 8% higher than last year, while of shelled pecans is 58%. Exports to many important overseas market, including North America, Europe, Middle East, East Asia and Southeast Asian, are all grew.
