The predicated data of global sunflower seed yield in 2017/18 was lowered for 630,000 tons. The yield decline quantity in Ukraine, Argentina and South Africa was 200000 tons more than the yield growth quantity in European Union.

The Ukraine official per unit yield data of the sunflower seeds was a disappointment, thus United States Department of Agriculture lowered this month the Ukraine sunflower seed yield data in 2017/18 to 13,000,000 tons, 500,000 tons less than the predicted value of the last month and 2,200,000 tons less than the yield of the previous year. The main influence of the declined supply was that the domestic oil manufacturing quantity reduced from 14,600,000 tons of the previous year to 13,000,000 tons. This will further restrain the Ukraine sunflower seed oil export in 2017/18. The export quantity is predicted as 5,000,000 tons, lower than 5,900,000 tons of the previous year.
