On November 24, 2017, Japan MHLW issued the Uncooked Food 1124 Notice No.2, amending the food & additive specification standard. The main amendment contents include: (1) According to the provision of Paragraph 1 in Article 11 of “Food Health Law” (Decree No.233 of 1951), the detection methods for 2, 4, 5-T “forbidden to be detected” in the food and tebufenozide & malachite green in the food are amended. Of which, the minimum detection limit of 2, 4, 5-T is adjusted from 0.05mg/kg to 0.01mg/kg (of which, the minimum limit of mineral water is maintained as 0.001ppm). (2) In the ingredient specification for cool beverage water, the detection methods for the arsenic in the cool beverage water except the mineral water are deleted. Such amended standard has been implemented since the issuance date.
