On November 23, 2017, the
Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (DAWA) issued the notice of
“Imported Food Inspection Requirements” (110-2017) with the contents as:
1. It is required that Food Control
Certificate and Goods Availability Certificate must be received before the
imported food inspection reservation;
2. The specific information of the goods
needs to be shown during the processing such as the batch or can code;
3. Laboratory Nominations must be submitted
and accepted first before the imported food inspection reservation;
4. Once the reservation is confirmed, the
following information must be provided in the designated inspection site during
the inspection: All relevant inspection documents (for example: Invoice,
packing list, production line identification, imported food inspection batch
number, can code, copy of Food Control Certificate) must be provided with
printing versions. All the goods confirmed in the link of INSPECTION or
INSPECTION & ANALYSIS REQUIRED for Food Control Certificate must be
completely opened and be available for the inspection;
5. The importer or agent must be present
during the inspection so as to assist the goods identification and sampling (if
needed).
Non-compliance with the above key points may lead to the inspection cancellation.
