Recently, the Georgia
pecan yield forecast is released in 2017. With the conclusion of the harvest of
the Georgia pecan in 2017,
it’s expected that the yield in this year is between 90 and 100 million pounds,
which continues to maintain the number one in America!
The pecan of
Desirable variety is growing well this year and is the most popular varieties
of pecans in Georgia
State due to its big
size. Although it is very susceptible to gibberellic disease, planters have
effectively controlled the gibberellic disease this year, thus the pecan yield
of Desirable variety is high.
The pecan yield of Stuart variety is normal this
year. As a result, the yield will be very high next year. As long as the
continuous impact of the hurricane is no longer expanding next year, the
overall yield is very optimistic.
Georgia State
is the producing area which has the highest pecan yield in America, with 160,000 acres of
planting area in 2016. The Department of Agricultural Economics Development at
the University of Georgia estimates that the imputed value of pecans
output by the Georgia
State in 2016 is USD 356
million.
