37 billion African francs will be used for development of the pineapple, cashew nut & rice planting industry and fishery industry

Benin Economist Newspaper reported on January 24, 2018 that, the World Bank will provide USD65 million (about 37 billion African francs) to develop the pineapple, cashew nut & rice planting industry and the fishery industry.

This fund is mainly used for consolidating the good achievements of the following two projects obtained in the initial stage:

(1) Agricultural Productivity and Diversification Project (PADA) aims at regaining and improving the field productivity and increasing the added value after the harvest.

(2) West Africa Agricultural Productivity Project (PPAAO) aims at developing, spreading and utilizing the technologies to improve the agricultural productivity and economic growth and achieving the poverty reduction for the beneficiary simultaneously.
