According to the latest monthly report issued by French analytical agency Strategic Grain Corp, theEuropean Union sunflower seed production is expected to be 9 million 100 thousand tons in 2018/19, slightly higher than the earlier forecast of 9 million 90 thousand tons.It was 3.3% less than 9 million 420 thousand tons in the previous year.
　　The European Union sunflower seed sown area is expected to be 4 million 260 thousand hectares in 2018/19, consistent with the earlier forecast.The last year was 4 million 290 thousand hectares.The output of sunflower seed is estimated to be 2.14 tons per hectare, consistent with the earlier forecast value, which is 2.5% less than the 21 thousand and 900 ha of the previous year.
