UkrAgroConsult, a analyse institute quoted the date by Russian Federation Statistical Office indicates that, according to the 900,000t sunflower seeds harvest, it estimates that Russian Sunflower seed production is up to 10.48 million tonnes in 2017，and less than 5 % while comparison of 2016.

Although the production in 2017 is down ayear-over-on basis，which still break the record on total yield, Because of  soybean and rapeseed production which increase more than those in sunflower seed .
Russian has estimated that Russian sunflower seed reach the production between 10.3 million- 10.4 million tons in 2017，The ideal scale is between 10.8 million tons-10.9 million 。
