According to the latest data released by the consultation agencies, the European Union is expected to reach a sunflower seed yield of 9.1 million tons in 2018 and 2019, slightly higher than the 9.04 million tons predicted last month, which was 9.6 million tons in the previous year.

The sowing area of the sunflower seed is expected to be 4 .25 million  hectares in 2018 and 2019, compared with to the 4.22 million hectares predicted last month, which was 4.29 million hectares last year.

The annual per unit yield of the sunflower seed is expected to be 2.14 tons per hectare in 2018 and 2019, which is consistent with the prediction made last month. The annual per unit yield was 2.23 tons last year.
