Stocks in the macadamia nut market remain low, a corollary of a stock shortage after the country’s poor harvest in the summer of 2017.

Outputs in Malawi and Kenya are not as much as expected. Kenya’s output remains disappointing. The tensions have been exacerbated this year by China’s continuing purchases of many in-shell macadamia nuts in the region, and the reduction of local outputs in Kenya has led to an insufficient supply of the country’s macadamia nuts this year.
