As the 25th largest export economy in the world, Turkey exports
multiple commodities and agricultural products to the world. The local unique
climate creates outstanding growing conditions. Fresh fruits, nuts and other
grain products become the core of its export market, and push sustainable
development of Turkey economy in the more extensive field.
In the aspect of
food production, due to climate with four distinct seasons and fertile soil,
Turkey becomes one of the countries with favorable conditions for various nuts,
quality vegetables and fruits. Countries with such advantage are rare.
Therefore, the demands of fruits exported from Turkey, no matter preserved
fruit, fresh fruit or nuts (especially hazelnut) are vast in China.
It is learned that
Turkey totally exported fruits and nuts worth of USD 27318 as well as
7.3 million kg hazel nuts to China last year.
The vegetables, fruits and nut products exported
from Turkey to China have realized positive growth in recent years. In 2017,
Turkey exported vegetable products worth of USD 50170 to China in 2017, while
the export volume of such products reached USD 27299. The large growth shows
Turkey has potential for continuous growth of products exported to the Chinese
market.
The hazel nut quantity produced and exported in Turkey is larger than that in any other countries. The output accounts for 75% of global hazel nut yield, while the export volume accounts for 75% of global hazel nut export volume.
