Tanzania Cashew Traders Call the Parliament for Cautious Amendment to Laws and Regulations

As reported by the mainstream media of Tanzania, The Citizen and The Guardian, on June 23 that the Cashew Nut Board of Tanzania said they wish the parliament to keep cautious when amending laws about cashew nuts. According to current laws of Tanzania, the 65% export tax of cashew nut is charged by the Cashew Nut BOARD OF Tanzania, while 35% is charged by the government. However, currently, the parliament proposed to manage the cashew export taxes through uniform account, leading to anxiety of cashew nut traders in Tanzania. They said the behavior of Tanzanian government may frustrate the cashew nut farmers.
